Bareburger

Bareburger

The most delicious burger I ever had, partly because you can build your own and they have a whole bunch of ingredients to pick from - so a great place for veggies. I like lots of flavour so pick a bunch of stuff to go inside my veggie burger which does make the price add up. But it was worth it. The drinks are also jumbo sized. Read more...

Bocca Restaurant

Bocca Restaurant

Easy and convenient. A mini food court that can make a bunch of stuff to order. It's one of those places with mini food kiosks in side that sells different menus. I tried the italian pasta once since it has the most scope for customisation. Read more...

Pizza Express

Pizza Express

Usual Pizza Express experience. There are *far* better and cheaper options for a margarita in London, it's £9 here vs £5 for a delicious option elsewhere. This is also the smallest brance I've ever been to, but at least the tables are spaciously arranged. Quick cooking time. Like all branches however, they all have different opinions on what the 'orange wednesday' terms are. At this one, Calzones are not included, where as they are in the others. Service was friendly and courteous however. Read more...

The British Museum

The British Museum

Other museums take note. Aside from the stunning museum venue itself, even my 'I don't like museums' friends found something to love about this place. The number of objects to look at, go up close to, and learn about is staggering. There is simply so much volume. It's free to enter, but even if you just give the recommended donation of £5 it's a bargain since it'll provide many hours of enjoyment. Another tip for the locals is the spacious Benugo cafes that occupy the corners of the main concourse. It's a stunning venue, but the cream tea is just £5. Nice tea and an even nicer jam and cream fruit scone. Read more...

Tibits

Tibits

Love this place, there is something for everyone, it's central, quick instant satisfaction. It's kitted out like a nice romantic restaurant, but then has this food boat self-service deli style. Just walk in and grab a free table, then get a hot plate and choose what you want from the food boat. Your plate is then weighed and then charged. A full plate large portion comes in at about £13. The great thing here is the choice. There is loads of options to choose from, the selection is changed all the time. So coming here week after week always promises something new, where as other restaurants stay the same old same old for months on end. Considering how central it is, it's great to walk in and have a full delicious meal within 5 minutes. It's always very busy, but there is always a table somewhere around. Read more...

Nando's Clink Street

Nando's Clink Street

As a local to this branch of Nandos I've had very mixed experiences over the years, so I would say it's geared more towards tourists than anyone else due to the varying service levels. Various regular issues I have is incorrect orders, cold food, long waits for table, to order food, and another for food to arrive; as well as the restaurant itself being cold, dark, and damp. It's not all bad, it's a Nandos at the end of the day. The Nandos in Stratford however is like a palace compared to Clink Street. I do recommend using the iPhone app to order to saving having to queue and at least having the right order. In summer sit outside, otherwise sit on the upper levels inside by the window facing the Thames. Read more...

Scarlet, Spitalfields

Scarlet, Spitalfields

A more civilized dining experience compared to the chaos down Brick Lane. The flavors here are amazing. The orange or coconut rice I could just eat by the bucket load, the rice alone is one of the reasons I keep coming back here. Loads of stuff for vegetarians, but I'm told the chicken stir-fry is delicious. They do a lunch bento box which is really big for a portion. Sweet naan is also a favorite. It's sometimes quiet here with it's busier time in the evenings. Read more...

Wahaca: Waterloo

Wahaca: Waterloo

Wacaha is doing well to have quite a standardized experience; as is in, whichever branch I go to, the service is always consistent and the places where the fewest mistakes happen. Staff are friendly and on the ball. This branch at Waterloo can get busy on weekends with a queue of 30 mins sometimes which is a pain as there is no real bar to speak of that you can wait in (unlike Soho which has a large bar/club downstairs). Food wise, the menu changes and there are at least 5 vegetarian options to choose from. The food is a little cheese heavy (so watch out if you get bloaty on dairy based food, but there is a dairy-free hot chocolate which is delicious), but generally tasty and spicy. I highly recommend the Horchata drink and Plantain Tacos. I could have just these things forever. Read more...

Snog

Snog

A little slower than the other branches (with the southbank pop-up bus being the slowest) but still offering the same selection froyo and toppings in a buzzy atmosphere with friendly up-beat staff. It's a surprising thing to have during winter but it does give you an energy boost while feeling quite healthy - I get a coconut flavored one with kiwi, mango, and granola and comes in at about £5 which is easy enough for two to share. Read more...

The Parlour Bar

The Parlour Bar

They have a good menu and a wide + interesting drink selection, but it can get busy with financial workers in the weekday evenings. At the weekend you pretty much have the place to yourself and it has a much more relaxed atmosphere. The same menu is shared between all the branches of this small London based chain. The pudding shots are the highlight of the desert menu. As is the Thai Red Curry, comes as vegetable only but you can add your choice of meat for about £3 extra. For drink i just stick to the basic raspberry cordial and sparkling water, you get a big glass of it and it's so refreshing. Read more...
