The British Museum
Other museums take note. Aside from the stunning museum venue itself, even my 'I don't like museums' friends found something to love about this place. The number of objects to look at, go up close to, and learn about is staggering. There is simply so much volume. It's free to enter, but even if you just give the recommended donation of £5 it's a bargain since it'll provide many hours of enjoyment. Another tip for the locals is the spacious Benugo cafes that occupy the corners of the main concourse. It's a stunning venue, but the cream tea is just £5. Nice tea and an even nicer jam and cream fruit scone.
