Mondrian Hotel London

Mondrian Hotel London

This hotel opened October 1st 2014 so obviously has that fresh new feeling to everything. Everything from the furnishings to the building look newly unwrapped. The staff all wear big smiles and are very friendly and helpful. The grand entrance lobby is actually at the back (on the side away from the Thames). The river facing entrance is just a door and you would think that it's not a hotel/bar/restaurant at all as it's one-way mirrored glass (which on the inside is funny to see people adjust themselves in the mirror). The hotel is clearly trying to appeal for an older big-spend market as have a large range of cocktails with a price tag to match. Read more...

citizenM hotel London Bankside

citizenM hotel London Bankside

CitizenM is a chic, luxury, trendy hotel, as well as a instagramers paradise. The lobby is chocked full of interesting and designed objects of fascination. This makes the hotel unique in it's style and approach in London. The rooms follow suite with the lobby with the ability to change the colour of the lights using a supplied tablet. This place is place to come for non-travellers just to have an awesome slice of cake (my favourite is the Red Velvet, I wish they would bring back the scones) and coffee. There are tables to work on as a workspace, free wifi, and comfy throwback sofas area for something more relaxing. Read more...

Malmaison Hotel

Malmaison Hotel

Had a tasty meal in the brasserie here, there is a veggie option of the pea and mint risotto. It was filling and satisfying, with a generous portion. Although it was a lot of a single thing to eat since it's just one big thing. Had a meal as part of a package deal they offer where we had a double suite, meal and a bottle of wine for two, for about £100 which was quite reasonable. They have really nice toiletries in the bathroom, but no robes etc which unusual. Read more...

The Delaunay

The Delaunay

Really high quality experience. Can get a bit busy, but it has a nice atmosphere. The pastries are all first class, and it's nice to sit and enjoy one with one of the nice pots of tea or a wine. They have a wide selection, and quite an international audience. Read more...

The Landmark London

The Landmark London

Really grand experience and a lovely place to settle for a nice afternoon tea. They have a few different seasonal tea themes to pick from. The staff are really knowledgeable when it comes to the tea as well as being really friendly. The afternoon tea here is more on the expensive side compared to other like-for-like hotels, but probably because the hotel is much larger. Read more...

Haymarket Hotel

Haymarket Hotel

Another stunning hotel from the Firmdale group. Like all of them the staff are all really friendly and accommodating. I came for afternoon tea which is delicious. Tell them in advance if you're vegetarian so they can prepare a different sandwich selection, they have this char-grilled pepper sandwich and a spinach wrap which is really tasty. Go downstairs and check out the massive swimming pool (with bar, guests only). Read more...

Corinthia Hotel London

Corinthia Hotel London

A place of pure tasteful luxury. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff are all so friendly. There are a few different restaurants to eat in, to which you should reserve. But even if you show up for an unscheduled afternoon tea in the parlour underneath their large lights they will be happy to find a spot. I go here all the time. Read more...

South Place Hotel

South Place Hotel

A really funky hotel tucked away discreetly in the City. Has some delicious Sunday brunches you get with unlimited cocktails or prosecco which is a total bargain given the high quality of the place. There is a really nice bar and roof terrace on the top floor which has some good views. Generally this place is quiet quiet off-peak. Read more...

Think London Bridge Apartments

Think London Bridge Apartments

So close to Tower Bridge and easy access to tube, I stay here all the time. There are a few different buildings within this complex. A refurbished and restored old vinegar factory and the modem purpose build glass structure. Both buildings are equally nice though, many have a balcony offering nice views. Read more...
