Timberyard

Timberyard

A coffee and workplace setup with character in central London area. Amongst all the tourist filled places in the area, this place has some charm and character. A good place to work with the wifi and regular service, this place fills with laptop users promptly. Seems to be dog friendly as lots of the clientele bring in adorable little pups. Read more...

The Green Room

The Green Room

Opening with a great two-for-one deal, this newly constructed wooden hut style spacious restaurant is a welcome addition to the London Southbank / Waterloo area. Read more...

Mudchute Park and Farm

Mudchute Park and Farm

There is usually something to see here all year round in all weather conditions. The goats in particular as well as the small horses seem to enjoy getting human attention. I highly recommend going to the large Asda just round the corner and buy a bag of seeds and carrots to feed the animals. The carrot is a popular food among them all. Read more...

Pizza Union

Pizza Union

Really fast and really delicious pizza, so cheap, so satisfying. I can't say enough good things about this place. You can pick from a prepared menu or create a custom pizza with your own ingredients. Read more...

Somerset House Ice Rink

Somerset House Ice Rink

One of Londons best rinks. What's special about this one is the colored lighting that adds atmosphere, the decent music system, and the lighting generally around somerset house. The bar lounge is also pretty decent. There is a small isolated area at back for beginners or children. As well as a viewing area where people can walk into the ice area. The ice itself is well maintained, clean, no puddles, smooth. Compared to Canary Wharf ice rink, the ice is much smoother (Canary Wharf often gets full of leaves or puddles), however unlike Canary Wharf, you are not allowed to bring a camera onto the ice which is a bit of a silly rule nowdays. You can take pictures from the front however off ice. My biggest tip is to go when it's not busy. Being on one of Londons busiest streets, it has a lot of visitors. One of the first or last sessions is best if you want some space. Read more...

Biju Bubble Tea Room

Biju Bubble Tea Room

So refreshing. This tea room makes a fun and lively addition to Soho. Inside is kitted out with cork walls that double as table and chairs so it's quite interesting, good sound system, and the staff are all really friendly. They are happy to explain to you how it all works if you're new to bubble tea and can make whatever tea combinations you would like, even if they're off menu. My recommendation is the iced lychee tea with pineapple jelly. They have quite a wide range of fruit flavored nectar shots I've seen compared to other tea rooms. The tapioca balls are caramel flavored, I just prefer the fruit. The tea is brewed fresh to order rather than done in batches. Read more...

The Household Cavalry Museum

The Household Cavalry Museum

The courtyard itself is well worth a look in (since it's free), even if you're not a tourist. The horses and guardsmen are all really friendly. If you encounter a member of the Household Cavalry while they're not on official duty (such as if you're lucky to be there on a social/promotional event), then they are all really splendid, genuine, heartwarming, and friendly people. This is the unit that form the guards in front of Buckingham Palace, so the people that do this job are happy to talk about how it works, what they do, etc etc. There is a museum on site giving the history of the unit in general as well as outlining it's modern day duties. Well worth a visit. Read more...

Burlington Arcade

Burlington Arcade

Lots of instagram opportunities for this well preserved and elegant arcade. Seems to consists entirely of a jewelry stores, and one rather decadent macaroon shop at the end. It's beautiful and quaint. Read more...

Pizza Express

Pizza Express

Usual Pizza Express experience. There are *far* better and cheaper options for a margarita in London, it's £9 here vs £5 for a delicious option elsewhere. This is also the smallest brance I've ever been to, but at least the tables are spaciously arranged. Quick cooking time. Like all branches however, they all have different opinions on what the 'orange wednesday' terms are. At this one, Calzones are not included, where as they are in the others. Service was friendly and courteous however. Read more...

Bubbleology

Bubbleology

This small chain of bubble tea cafes have a really decent range of flavors and flavored jelly/boba compared to some others. They have my winning combination of kiwi and lychee. They have lychee jelly and boba which I've not found elsewhere. It's tucked away from all the food outlets for some reason, but there is usually a quick and steady que. They have little booths to sit in, but being open in a shopping center not as much atmosphere as the city center branches. It's quite refreshing and better than any other drink outlets within Westfield, of which there are not many anyway other than the usual Costa/Starbucks combinations. Read more...
