Polo 24 Hour Bar

Polo 24 Hour Bar

Came here randomly and didn't expect much given it's directly opposite Liverpool Street train station. I've seen this place full with a que during peak times, so I went with the mentality that the staff would be busy and it's a quick turn-around joint, not a place for a slow relaxing drink. This place has a lot of foot traffic of people coming and going. That said, the waitress still managed to bring to the table a selection of their teas to show me which were loose leaf teas. I didn't have much time, so a tea and a salted caramel brownie (which was only £1.70) was all we had. But would come back again to try the food. It's nice upstairs. Read more...

Beamish & McGlue

Beamish & McGlue

Really friendly service. This place is a mixture of specialist food outlet (with some special hard-to-find ingredients for vegetarians), it's a deli and bakery, as well as a coffee shop. Come here for a slice of delicious homemade cake and a coffee and sit outside. Being on the corner. they have sectioned off behind plants a nice seating area which makes the place stand out from others in the local area. Read more...

Rabot 1745

Rabot 1745

This place is usually open late for drinks and serve a delicious Salted Caramel hot chocolate if you fancy something classic. It's smooth and creamy. The staff are all really really friendly too and get chatting to you! The hot chocolate flakes you can buy to take home. Read more...

Del'Aziz

Del'Aziz

This place is two fold bakery and restaurant. The bakery is nice to pick up special occasion cakes, or slices to take away. The slices are *very* large, which I expect given they can cost around £6 each, but they are worth it and will last a day or two at home. The breakfast is also really good and has a twist on the Full English with spiced beans. Read more...

Snowflake Gelato

Snowflake Gelato

Really swish place. Luxury Gelato. More flavours here than I've seen at any other Gelato place in London. Get a seat in the back and get table service, enjoy more than basic Gelato - have it with waffles, pancakes, or a large sharing glass. What's also good is it's open late, service is friendly and the place is a nice civilized rest-bite from the chaos in Soho on a Saturday night. For vegans there is a special range of dairy free, and a zero calorie selection too. Read more...

The Delaunay

The Delaunay

Really high quality experience. Can get a bit busy, but it has a nice atmosphere. The pastries are all first class, and it's nice to sit and enjoy one with one of the nice pots of tea or a wine. They have a wide selection, and quite an international audience. Read more...

Gelateria 3Bis

Gelateria 3Bis

Some amazing original flavours and strong coffee to go with. My favourite is the hazelnut and the kinder surprise one that has little crunchy bits in it. They've never offered it to me, but there is a big selection of toppings -just ask for them. Get's very busy but is open late during the summer to cater for the crowds, shame it closes early in winter. I go a tub to take home and even after several hours was still pretty intact.I also tried the gelato ice lolly and gelato cake, though I usually just stick to the gelato in a cup. Read more...

Lively and full of activity. A suburb range of deserts, literally have massive displays of all sorts of delicious sweet and savory items. A soy iced coffee makes or a glass of wince makes a perfect accompaniment. The range of wines is quite extensive. The restaurant is also good but might require a booking in advance. Read more...

The Table Café

Maybe a bit limited as far as vegetarians are concerned, but is getting quite popular with locals and visitors alike because of it's fresh and clean appeal. The outside terrace just off the street is perfect for hot days. Read more...
